Melbourne, Australia Weather: Colder in Winter Than the Other Cities

In winter months in Australia, the City of Melbourne is much colder than the other state capital cities. There was a record of 2.8°C low temperature in the 4th of July, 1901. Usually, Melbourne only experiences fog and frosts in winter time and it is very rare that it snows. The last snow that fell in Melbourne, Australia was in 1986 and the most recent snowfalls in the mountain of Dandenong were in 2005. During the latter year snowfall was caused by cool air flowing up from the Antarctic, had decreased at sea stage and on seashores right across lower Victoria. The snowfalls and the hail cause roads to be slippery and were in a very dangerous condition. However, the snow during that time gave good news to ski lovers that brought the state’s main ski field to operate. The Melbourne Australia weather really is unpredictable and who knows when will the next snowfall appears.
